Stay Focused:
Avoid rushing; a deliberate and consistent pace often yields better results than trying to rush through the targets.
Rehearse the Layout:
Familiarity with the stage layout and target distances helps improve confidence and performance under pressure. Remember the targets will look a little different from the two shooting boxs.
Engage (T1-T4) Finish on Stop Plate (SP) - Competitors shoot three strings from one shooting box and two strings from the other with no more than three strings from any one box. There is no movement between boxes during a string. The best four of five runs count for score.
Targets and Shooting Boxes:
Two 3-by-3 shooting boxes 6 feet apart
Two 10-inch plates at 5 feet high
Two 18-by-24-inch rectangles at 5 feet, 6 inches high
One 12-inch stop plate (SP) at 5 feet high
Max Target Distances:
25 yards deep (firing line to farthest target)
18 feet wide (left to right from target centers)
Average target distance = 16.4 yards
